A Certificate of Occupancy is typically issued when a construction project is complete and ready for someone to move in or to set up for business. A Certificate of Occupancy is included in the Building Permit process and is typically issued at the completion of a new house or other occupied space. Oftentimes an application is not necessary. For information about a Certificate of Occupancy in relation to Business Licensing, refer to Our Services, Certificate of Occupancy / Business Licensing. If you have any questions, contact the Public Works Department by calling 417-237-7010 and speaking with a Building Inspector.
